Systems and processes affected by the outage

Due to enhancements being made to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) database, various systems will not be accessible for up to four (4) days beginning at 8 p.m. EST on Friday, June 26, 2015.

According to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), the outage is expected to last through at least 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 28, 2015; however, it is possible that the SEVIS database and other systems could be unavailable on Monday, June 29, 2015.

All F-1 and J-1 students and exchange visitors (as well as their F-2 and J-2 dependents) need to be aware of this outage because the upgrades to the SEVIS database will affect various systems and processes, including I-901 SEVIS fee payments, Social Security, driver's licenses and I-20/DS-2019 processing.
